Win Tickets to Open Roof Festival (and National Parks book)!

Enter to win four tickets to a special movie screening and concert on July 14 at Toronto’s only outdoor film-and-music fest

Imagine movies. Music. Stars. And um, beer.

Open Roof Festival (ORF), Toronto’s only outdoor film and music series, is back for its sophomore season offering locals and international visitors a 12-week urban cultural showcase every Thursday night starting June 16 and ending September 1, 2011. Presenting the best Canadian and international narrative films, documentaries and musical acts, ORF offers arts seekers the ultimate in urban summer fun with weekly screenings and concerts, all taking place en plein air at the Amsterdam Brewery. Accessible by car, transit and bicycle, the venue opens at 7:30 p.m. each evening, with a local band coming on shortly thereafter, and films commencing at sundown. About the National Parks Project

In the tradition of the Group of Seven, Margaret Atwood's Survival and other cultural touchstones, the National Parks Project aims to explore the ways in which the wilderness shapes our cultural imagination. The core of the project is the parks themselves — places that most Canadians never visit, but are nonetheless amazing and inspirational parts of the country we call home.

About Catl

"These Torontonians' rough-hewn scuzz-blues joints and pained acoustic laments make you wanna gulp down a 26er of Wild Turkey, sweat buckets and put your fist through something. Unhinged fun." —Ben Rayner, Toronto Star

Catl is "one of the most exciting blues band on the Toronto scene for years" (Tim Perlich, NOW Toronto), creating an original blues sound that's been described as raw primordial and warped. Such descriptions come as no surprise given their history of punk-influenced rock ‘n’ roll (catl in Pecola; drummer Johnny LaRue in The Exploders and No No Zero; and Sarah Kirkpatrick in Shitt Hott).
