The Foundation supports local and global initiatives that help preserve nature and educate people about the environment all around the world. Created in 1991 and placed under the auspices of the Institut de France in 2001, the Yves Rocher Foundation is working towards creating a "greener world" through 2 key initiatives: the Women of the Earth Contest and the Plant for the Planet Program.

Each year, through its Women of the Earth Contest, the Yves Rocher Foundation recognizes the efforts of 3 passionate, eco-citizen women who are actively working to protect the environment on a daily basis. The program is currently active in 15 different countries across Europe, North America and North Africa. The foundation awards the 3 contest winners (3 winners are selected from each of the 15 countries) with monetary prizes of €2,000 , €3,000 and €5,000 to help them continue with their initiatives to preserve nature.

2010 was the 5th year in a row, this contest has been active in Canada.

Green Living is pleased to introduce you to this years 3 Canadian winners.
