WINNERS - Plugged In

Electric cars received another boost thanks to Vancouver’s recent decision to require developers to install plugs in new condos and apartments. The unanimous city vote in July requires electrical outlets in 20 percent of all parking spots in new buildings. Vancouver has already passed a bylaw mandating e-car outlets in new homes, and a pilot project will soon see charging stations at city-operated parking lots. The decision came just in time for the Canadian debut of the much-anticipated zero-emission, highway-ready Mitsubishi i MiEV, soon to be tested on Vancouver’s streets.
