Canada may not have produced an environmental film as successful as An Inconvenient Truth, but quality isn’t the issue. The best of our films rarely make it to the big screen—a fact that has kept decades of powerful environmental filmmaking from audiences. Now, the innovative people at the National Film Board have provided a solution to that problem: upwards of 700 of NFB films – recent and archival – can now be viewed on your iPhone or online.
From feature animated shorts to docs, there are dozens of eco-themed films to choose from. Here are five of our favourites (plus a few runners-up). Did we mention they are free?
