Small Is Beautiful

What these pint-sized sustainable homes lack in size, they make up for in design ingenuity.

Tumbleweed

Also mobile, this Weebee house by Tumbleweed Tiny House Company is also mobile, sitting on more traditional wheels rather than legs. But it’s not a caravan or a holiday RV, it’s a bona fide house. It costs just $45,000 and holds just 102 square feet of floor space. But Tumbleweed makes homes for just $37,000 ($16,000 if you are willing to build it yourself) with as little as 65 square feet. Sound cramped? The company’s founder and designer Jay Shafer has lived in them himself, proving that we really don’t need as much space as we think we do.
