How would you spend $1,000 to save the planet?

12 international environmental leaders tell us how they’d spend a grand to green the planet.

“Universally, if we look at the challenges that we have for the environment, the most egregious problem is particulate air pollution in developed countries. In the United States, 135,000 people die due to particulates each year—more than three times the number who die from traffic accidents. So, I would put a particulate filter on as big a car as I possibly could—perhaps a van— in a city where lots of people live.”
