Mussels and Oysters

SeaChoice rates mussels from around the world (a.k.a. sea, Bue, Mediterranean, Green, New Zealand mussels) a “best choice” if they’re farmed. Farmed are better than wild due to the environmental impact of dredging wild mussels.

Oysters farmed by suspension (they’re suspended in rafts or floats in natural, inter-tidal or sub-tidal waters) are considered a sustainable choice.
