Crab and Imitation Crab

Dungeness crab trapped in the Canadian Pacific  or from California, Oregon or Washington all pass the sustainability test. Imitation crab, which is usually a mix of white fish species (Alaska pollock is the most popular), is OK to eat occasionally when Dungeness crab isn’t available: It’s difficult to determine if all other white fish in imitation crab were fished responsibly, so SeaChoice ranks it as having “some concerns” instead of a “best choice.”
