Butterfly Gardens with Mark Cullen

The gardening guru shares his tips for attracting butterflies, birds and bees

Planting a few flowers to appeal to winged creatures is like making a donation to support wildlife. Bees and butterflies help pollinate the blooms while the flowers provide a meal for the insects. These gardens also attract hummingbirds and other wildlife, turning your yard into a little sanctuary. As a bonus, flowers that appeal to critters are brightly coloured and beautifully scented, which makes for a cheery landscape for you. Remember to avoid using pesticides, as these will kill butterflies and other insects that will benefit your garden.
