8 Priceless National Parks

It's impossible to put a value on these amazing destinations. These beautiful oases have helped define a country and will continue to shape its future.

Riding Mountain National Park of Canada, Manitoba

This park in southwestern Manitoba has it all: backcountry hiking trails (as well as biking and horseback trails), dramatic viewpoints, paddler-friendly lakes, beaches, boreal forest, big land animals—and plenty of history! Spend the day spotting bison at Lake Audey, learning about Cree and Anishinabe fur traders at the Wasagaming visitors’ centre or climb the Agassiz tower for a view of the prairies.

Eco Fact: Riding Mountain is home to an elk herd that’s about 1,700 members strong. Visit in September for the best chance of spotting the animals.
