The DeLish Bite

Lindsay Evans blogs about food, entertaining and her favourite recipes for Green Living.

I had a food styling job on Monday, which took me down to Niagara's Twenty Valley a thriving culinary and wine destination just an hour’s drive from downtown Toronto. Although I have visited the Niagara wine region several times, I had yet to visit this emerging wine, agricultural and culinary destination. To say that I was very impressed by the brief interlude I had with the Twenty Valley is a bit of an understatement. So, I set out to learn a little bit more... Located between Beamsville and the City of St. Catharines, along the watershed of the Twenty Mile Creek, Twenty Valley is the heartland of Niagara’s extraordinary wine and specialty agriculture region. This exciting and budding area offers a variety of unique experiences from hiking along rustic nature trails to signature wine touring, delectable dining experiences and exquisite boutique shopping. You will also find premier golf courses, heritage sites, museums and art galleries, all nestled in the heart of Twenty Valley's rural, yet sophisticated wine country. An exceptional selection of prestigious inns, enticing bed and breakfasts, lovely hotels and campgrounds offer the perfect getaways for your family or a group of friends. Twenty Valley's heartland boasts some of Ontario's finest orchards, vineyards, greenhouses, and fruit and vegetable farms and many restaurants serve market fresh farm to table specialties. Stay tuned later this week for a more thorough discussion of the premier wineries and culinary destinations of the region. For more information on this exciting region, visit
