It's not really a secret that I like Colin Firth. I mean, I like him a lot. He's charming, British, an Oscar nominee and always in great movies. When his movie And When Did You Last See Your Father? was at TIFF a few years ago, I bought my tickets well in advance...even though he wasn't actually there.

You probably know him from such movies as Bridget Jones's Diary, The English Patient, Shakespeare in Love, Love Actually, Mamma Mia or A Single Man. And these are only a handful of the amazing movies he's been in.

With a filmography like this there's already a lot to like about Colin Firth. Well now there's something else to love about him. At this year's Green Living Show Colin Firth will receive an award for his green business activities. Who knew that internationally acclaimed actors had time to also run green businesses?

This will the first year for the partnered award from Green Living and the Environmental Media Association (EMA) recognizing a celebrity for promoting the green economy in innovative ways. Colin Firth will receive the award along with his wife Livia Firth and business partner Nicola Guiggiollo. The three helped found Eco Age in 2007. It is one of Britain's first "ecological destination stores" offering ethical, Fair Trade, sustainable and eco-friendly products for all aspects of a green life. From home decor to fashion Eco Age has become a thriving green business.

You can see Colin Firth at the Green Living Show on Saturday April 24 at 5:00 p.m. I know I'll be there!

So if Mamma Mia or Bridget Jones weren't good enough reasons to love Colin Firth, perhaps this green award will do the trick!
