EnerCanWest 2012: Energy and the Environment – Feb. 13-14, 2012

This year’s conference is all about energy and the environment, and will feature plenary sessions discussing cutting-edge innovations, best practices, and approaches to the urgent problems and issues that the environmental and energy industries face in our carbon-challenged world. International Green Vehicle Congress – Feb. 26-29, 2012

The International Green Vehicle Congress will be held Feb. 26-28, 2012, in Hong Kong, with a post-event site tour to Shenzhen in mainland China on Feb. 29. Reducing CO2 emissions is a growing challenge for the transport sector. With rapid urbanization in many countries, energy consumption and CO2 emissions of urban transport are increasing quickly.

China is boldly aiming to be the worldwide leader in alternative technology vehicles. China’s new 10-year investment plan (2011-2020) sets aside over 100 billion yuan ($14.7 billion US at the current exchange rate) for the development and production of alternative technology vehicles. The plan is expected to be approved later this month and should go a long way towards helping China reach its annual production goal of 500,000 hybrids and EVs.

Climate Leadership Conference

The first annual Climate Leadership Conference will be held Feb. 29 – March 1, 2012, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The conference will bring together leaders from business, government and academic institutions, and the non-profit community interested in exchanging ideas and information on how to address climate change while simultaneously running their operations more competitively and sustainably.
