Life in the Green Lane

Environmental journalist Candice Batista shares video clips and eco-savvy advice from her TV show, A Greener Toronto.

This week on A Greener Toronto, we take a look at a pilot program initiated by the Toronto Region and Conservation Authority and the folks at Trout Unlimited Canada. This program gets kids out of the class room to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of throwing garbage into our storm drains. Dewan Afzal created the Sunshine Walk to raise awareness about climate change, both here at home and abroad. He walked from Toronto to Ottawa and along way met some really great Canadians; tune in to hear his inspirational story. I am sure by now you have read about the harmful chemicals in most of our cosmetics. I have and I worry about it all the time, so to ease my mind I hooked up with Sigrid Natural Skin Care to learn how to cook my own cosmetics. It's easier than you may think! Indoor air quality in another BIG issue for Canadians, we're talking to Kay Valley about an indoor air quality audit and how it can help you reduce allergies in your home. In my Eco tip segment, I'm focusing on foods as medicine. And finally, we visit Forever Interiors where everything old is new again. Watch A Greener Toronto tonight at 9:30pm on Rogers TV.
