Like many things in life, learning to train the mind is a skill like any other. For most of us in the Western world, lack of focus is what leads us to the inability to learn new information. A mind that is quiet and still has a greater aptitude for inspiration, creativity, knowledge and happiness. Many of the sicknesses we are plagued with today stem from our reactions to the stressful world we live in. When we live with a mind that is filled with baggage of past injury and burdened with worry of future misfortune, there is little chance of living in the moment and enjoying the fruit of that happiness it creates. Remember, that which we project outwardly, like say a negative critical opinion, is only a reflection of the unhappiness we feel and think within. If we approach life from a place of peace and happiness that energy radiates out around the world like ripples across a pond. Education and wisdom don't always share the same view. I am not an uneducated person, but I usually find this a crock!. I don't really see anything effective done by people who practice mind cleansing--although the technique would certainly be apropos for politicians.
