The claim of the product: This is not your little sister's lip balm. With over 60% Sweet Almond oil, Consonant Lip Therapy delivers long-lasting hydration and extremely high levels of essential fatty acids, a cornerstone of healthy skin.

The problem the product solves: A natural lip balm choice.

What is great about the product:

  1. Ingredients: Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil, Beeswax, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil, Mentha, Piperita Oil, Melaleuca Alternifolia Leaf Oil, Pogostemon Cablin Oil.
  2. It goes on smooth and clean. Not overly sticky or rough in texture.
  3. The mentha, gives it a cool healing feeling without the smell.
  4. It truly is scent free.
  5. Long lasting, lasts about 6 hours.
  6. Great base coat to layer on color if you are going out.
  7. Lip balm formulated to last 18 months (versus 6 months with normal cosmetics).
  8. Products made in Canada (though ingredients come from all over the world due specificity, some ingredients are not found in Canada).
  9. Cruelty Free Certified.
  10. Packaging is recyclable in the blue box.

What is not so great about the product:

  1. Price is high though product does last a long time.
  2. No SPF factor.
  3. Though they use certified organic ingredients, they do not carry a 3rd party logo.
  4. They do not use recycled materials in their packaging.

Grade from Green Living: B (A good alternative to traditional lip balm, but still has some work to go in being a great “green” choice).
