Product Review: Bryce Facial Polishing Scrub

With the cooler temperatures and lower humidity hitting many parts of the country, it’s time for us to update our skincare to deal with dryer skin. When we came across a product that was a four-in-one — cleanser, exfoliator, toner and moisturizer — saving us time and money, we had to try it.

Company: Bryce Organic Skin Care

Item(s) tested & price: Mediterranean Pomegranate Exfoliating Facial Polishing Scrub (4 oz for $29.00)

The claim of the product: BRYCE™ ORGANIC SKIN CARE spa products contain fresh, hand-selected organic fruit or vegetables, providing a nourishing spa-like texture you are not likely to find in any other products; all while containing powerful antioxidants, anti-aging vitamins and minerals.

How to use the product? We recommend using a teaspoon to stir up the product first. Wet your face with warm water and, using a dime-size amount between your fingers, rub in an upwards circular motion on your face until the “sugar” dissolves. Rinse with warm water and pat your face dry. Use once a day.

What was great about the product:

  • This product uses all certified-organic ingredients: organic Mediterranean pomegranate puree, organic pomegranate extract, organic pomegranate oil, organic extra virgin olive oil, organic apricot kernel oil, organic avocado carrier oil, organic cane sugar.
  • You can actually see the pomegranate seeds in the product!
  • After two weeks of use, our product testers noticed brighter skin with no dry patches.
  • This product replaces our normal four-step process (cleanse, exfoliate tone and moisturize) with just two steps (we still needed the cleanse step for removing make-up). Even those testers with very dry skin did not need a moisturizer after exfoliating with the product.
  • We like the page on the Bryce website that talks about which fruits provide the ingredients, click here to read.
  • The packaging is made from recycled plastic.

What was NOT so great about the product:

  • A couple of our product testers that have very soft and sensitive skin found this a bit too rough, so they used it only once a week, instead, to remove dead cells.
  • It can be a bit oily to the touch. If any of the oil leaks out of the container (and you use the product in the shower) it can be tough to open.
