Fashion Takes Action

What better excuse for an eco-chic party than to look at some stunning fashions and help one of Canada's most respected environmental organizations?

Canada's Top Designers will be strutting their stuff on the green catwalk on September 26th as part of Fashion Takes Action.

This eco-couture gala and benefit, enviro-friendly from the ground up, is being held at Toronto's eco-community, the Evergreen Brick Works. Proceeds go to Environmental Defence, who works tirelessly to protect our health and the environment.

The event is being organized by Third Eye Media, known for their large scale fashion shows and events. Founder and president Kelly Drennan along with partner Katie Lister organized Fashion Takes Action to promote an eco-friendly lifestyle.

Designers will arrive on the green carpet in their Zipcars and head in to mingle with the crowd. Guests will enjoy organic beer, wine or energy drinks from the open bar before sitting down to watch Elmer Olson models slink along their 20-foot by 80-foot grass runway dressed in haute couture made from soy, hemp, bamboo and organic cotton.

After the show you can enjoy some organic cuisine and listen to the cool sounds of jazz vocalist Larra Skye. Her album 'The World Disappears' is HMV's number one bestselling independent jazz album of 2006. Be sure to take some time to smell the roses from Ecoflora.

You can also bid on exclusive green items in a live and silent auction for eco-getaway packages, yoga wear, green cosmetics and personal care products, outdoor gear and home products. Make sure you smile for the camera because the fashion paparazzi will be out in full force to capture this green fashion event.

Tickets can be bought directly on the Fashion Takes Action website but will not be sold at the door.
