Showers are far better than baths in terms of water consumption - on average, a five minute shower uses a third of the water as a bath (low flow heads do even better!) and that means tens of tons of water saved. Love that!

They're large, small and beefsteak, they come in a multitude of colors including red, green, yellow, brown, purple, pink and even striped, and they have peculiar names (Cherokee Purple, Yellow Pear, Green Zebra, Valencia, Yellow Brandywine and Kellogg's Breakfast, just to name a few).

It's that time of the year again: the end of summer. Back to school is upon us (frightening but true). And for the occasion, I am going to lead us astray a bit from the usual topics for a special on totally eco school supplies - that are easy and fun and stylish, of course! It is about shopping in a sense... but a new way to approach the situation from an eco standpoint!

I love cookies. I have to admit that I do not have much of a sweet tooth otherwise - In fact, when a craving for chocolate calls, I am often content with a single dark chocolate truffle. But I do have a weakness for homemade cookies...

Using (and loving!) raspberry shampoo and conditioner is my way of creating my very own raspberry beret. This raspberry is not only music to my hair, but smells absolutely divine and works wonders on my locks.

I always knew I would grow up to be an environmentalist. As a child I spent many family holidays in South Africa's magnificent Kruger National Park. Seeing an animal in its natural habitat is truly a beautiful thing. It's there where my love for the natural world grew and blossomed, much like the animals, plants and flowers that surround the park.

Our initial launch date for A Greener Toronto was scheduled for September 22nd, but thanks to Mr. Harper's decision to call an election, the powers that be (at Rogers TV) have decided to launch the fall season after the election.
