Definitely naughty...
BUREAUCRA$H. This youth wing of the CEI (Competitive Enterprise Institute) has been mounting a "the climate is not changing" campaign following in its parents footsteps. The CEI is a "think-tank" dedicated to bringing freedom, justice and a can of pesticide to the civilized world. They’ve outfitted the kids in groovy T-shirts printed with profound slogans likes "Smoking is healthier than fascism"and got them slapping up anti-environment posters on university campuses and posting MTV-like videos on YouTube. Their latest project is an eight-minute video claiming global warming is a scare tactic to take away our liberties. They make it hip to ignore the environment. Using some slick production features, they drop a lot of fancy theories like how the Holicene Era was warmer than today and "Hey! We survived that!" (Ah kids we’re still in the Holicene Era -- maybe it’s time to stop skipping classes.) But then they are also trying to tell us there is no consensus with scientists over global warming. Maybe that’s why their patron for the project, Exxon has decided to stop funding anymore climate deniers.
USA Religious News. Finally someone who has unmasked the culprit responsible for all this global warming hysteria. It’s the Communists! That’s right, pinkos are pushing this global warming agenda. While we’re out buying organic apples, they’re going to trick unsuspecting Christians into supporting "a one-world government with a one-world religion while teaching our children a watered-down version of the Bible." It’s true. God told them. So next time you notice that the seasons are changing, or you buy that CLF lightbulb -- remember -- you're simply doing what those atheist Communists want you to do!
Chevron CEO David O'Reilly. O’Reilly was all smiles during the opening of Chevron's new bio-fuels plant outside of Galveston TX. He recently told the US Congress that that 95% of his Chevron dealers are free to sell E85 ethanol (which isn't all that green in the first place). But a quick glance at the contract independent dealers must sign shows that there no way they could every afford to sell E85 ethanol. The contract stipulates they must build separate islands and pumps for the ethanol, create separate pricing signs and put a separate canopy over the filling station. That adds up to more than $250,000 in renovations for the dealers who are "free to sell E85." And so in the end, Chevron just opened up a refining station for a fuel they will never sell. What’s next? A video denying climate change?
The George C. Marshall Institute and other Cold War warriors. OK guys, you had your century but maybe it’s time to retire. The debate over global warming has ended as so eloquently pointed out by Stanford PhD Naomi Oreskes in her lecture last month entitled Cold War Scientists and Global Warming. Oreskes shows that out of 928 peer-reviewed papers on climate change none disagreed with the IPCC report on climate change. The media debate over global warming is being generated by a small group of Cold War scientists who are - as Oreskes explained -- staunch anti-Communists and strong proponents of a free-market fundamentalism. After the Cold War, they took on the anti-tobacco lobby and then moved o to climate issues. They are media savvy and prone to starting organizations like the George C Marshall Institute. Their tagline is "science for better public policy" but they often try to shape public perceptions by playing on the areas of small scientific uncertainty. For them there is no difference between being green and being red. And since it’s better to be "dead than red..."

Municipal by-laws forcing (some) people to cut down their native wildflower gardens (saying that they are weeds) and forcing people to plant grass which requires lot of water, fertilizers and pesticides. Writing from my own experience.Older neighbours and some younger ones also only like grass. According to them, property values will go down, if I don't plant and maintain grass.
So who should I care about being green, when I try to do thing right, like hanging laurndry outside, I get complaints and enforecement officers coming to my door.
Green? I tried, compost the whole bit, now I'm fed up, defeated and don't want to hear about it anymore.
