Earth day heroes: eco-students

Who's the greenest of them all? Earl Haig Jr Public School!

The City of Toronto’s Environmental Awards of Excellence honour and celebrate leading companies, organizations and individuals who have contributed to the greening of Toronto.

The Youth Award rewards youth who show leadership in greening projects including school ground naturalization, recycling and fundraising for environmental causes.

The organic-waste reduction and diversion project at Earl Haig Jr Public School has raised awareness of environmental issues and reinforced learning in a variety of curriculum areas. At this certified EcoSchool, students learn about decomposition, types of soil and the cycle of growth as they spread mulch in their school yard and see the results

Congratulations to these motivated eco-students!
